I can't really decide where to put the new rink. I'm going to TRY and write to The Melville Advance later.

I think it should go downtown. There taking the old rink out anyway what are they going to put there.
I think that the New Melville Arena should be in the Regional Park because there is much more parking space for people to park during large games. More parking space might also get more money for the Arena because if there is more parking space, more people might go and attend the games/practices. I also think that the Arena should go to the Regional Park becuase it is not as crowded there, also if the Arena is in the Regional Park there will be more room down town to make more stores and houses.

But if they are going to tear out the stadium i think it they should put it in town so im not sure where it should go yet.

I think that there are pros and cons for putting them in either place. By putting the new statium in the Regional Park there will be more parking space, and if you wont to build on there will be room , but then if you put it there the stors in Melville will not have a lot of customers, because the rink will be to far away. By putting it uptown the stors will continue to have costomers, and the rink will be in walking distance for the older people that what to go to the hockey games, if you put it uptown then more people will see it and it will attract more people to Melville. There are cons for putting it uptown to, there will be not as much parking space as there would if you put in the park, and there is lack of space if you what to build on. I think that both of the places are good put they both have pros and cons if you put it there.

I believe that neither the downtown or Regional park location is the ideal location in terms of possible future development. So I think Melville should build the proposed Multiplex NORTH OF HIGHWAY 10 BY THE GOLF COURSE. The main reason for this is that future developments around this area is imminent and this area is the key to further developments of Melville. A diverted Highway 47 NORTH will provide easy access to future developments including the new Multiplex, possible park, nature trails, shops and parking. A new access road should be built so that amenities could be reached easily and reliably. The "Great North" is a great place to start developing Melville. I think downtown buisnesses will actually recieve more customers because the new developments will very likely attract more people to Melville, and some if not many visitors might stay in Melville.
It's time to compromise and start building Melville!
I have mixed feelings about were to put the new rink/sports plex.
there are some god things about having it in the Regional park; it would attract people to go the the regional, but it would take away trees and wildlife. If we put it downtown; it would attract people to other businesses, but parking would be scarce. Ether one would be O.K. Daniel
I think the new rink should be in the park because then you are close to the pool and ball fields. There is more parking and not so closed in. When Melville wants to expand on the rink they can out there but if it is downtown they can not expand on. If they have it downtown there is not enough parking and the Bargin Shop, Fields,and the co-op will have no parking that might make them mad. Also all the cars will crowd up 3rd avenue.
I think that it would be better to put the New Melville Arena at the Regional park because there is more room there and if you had hockey games you wouldnt have to park in front of other buisnesses like you sometimes have to do when the Melville Millionares play. Even though its not good for the stores to lose buisness I think it would be better because it has more room and theres more parking space,But hey I'm just a kid but thats my opinion

DrewI think it should go downtown because if there taking the old rink out what will they put there? If there is a tourny the people (dads moms kids)can walk to the other rink. In between periods parents can walk to the bar to get a drink.The parents don't have to drive to get a gatorade or drink for the kids.
I think the Regional Park is best because there's more building,and parking room. You also don't have to close streets and kick people out have their houses downtown! Way less crouded. More people can have shops downtown. I think it should be Regional Park!

I think that the lokation of the new Melville arena should be in the Regional Park. It should be in the Region Park because if the people wanted to build on to the arena, they could because there is the space to do it. The busnises down town wuoldn't lose custermers because when the people leve they probly want to go down town to selabrate thier team won.
My opinion on where the new Arena should be is the Regional Park! Because we can have it running all year long for diffrent events such as.. Soccer ,lacross, dances and outher cool activities! It will fit more people in for hockey games, and they can have the pop up seats to sit on insteasd of the benches, and there will be more room for parking that way the streets will be crowded im sure the businesses did not like that before!

I think we should put the Melville Arena in the Regional Park. Because you can have way more parking space. But if you put it downtown you possibly might lose some businesses and people might lose their houses. And if you put in the Regional Park, you will probably end up getting a lot more people to come. And if you put it in the Regional Park the town might have room to put new businesses in or houses or other stuff. And also you can get lots of people to come when kids or adults are having practices.
